Hello, my friend, I’m Dr. Charlene. (EdD not MD ), a divorced Christian woman and your companion on the journey of rebuilding confidence with grit and grace.
If you’re a divorced Christian woman, trying to rediscover who you are after heartbreak… if you’ve ever felt unseen, judged, or like you had to keep it all together while falling apart on the inside—this space was created for you.
- You’re not alone.
- And more importantly—you’re not broken.
- You’re being rebuilt.
By the way if you are a woman who has gone through something similar, but you’re not divorced, you may find this space beneficial also.
Why I Created Confident Christian Woman
I started this community because I know what it’s like to lose yourself in the middle of a life you never saw coming.
I’ve lived through betrayal, silence, rejection, and the quiet grief that often follows divorce—especially in Christian spaces that don’t always know what to do with women like us.
But I’ve also lived through restoration.
And I’ve discovered that healing doesn’t happen all at once—it happens one brave, faith-filled step at a time.
With grit. With grace. With God.
What You’ll Find Here
This space is here to help you rebuild your confidence—biblically, practically, and authentically.
Here, you’ll find:
-
Real stories from a woman who’s walked this road
-
Devotionals rooted in Scripture and real life
-
Encouragement that doesn’t sugarcoat the process
-
Tools to help you set boundaries, release shame, and walk boldly again
I’ve been a wife, mother, educator, healthcare professional, leadership coach, speaker, trainer, and mentor.
I’ve faced rejection and experienced the sting of feeling alienated by the very Christian community I thought would support me, simply because I was divorced.
But I have also been loved unconditionally, cared for immensely, accepted for who I am, comforted during painful and challenging times, and given many opportunities to succeed.
Now, I want to walk with you on your journey toward who God wants you to be.
You’re Not Starting Over—You’re Finding Your Purpose
You were never meant to do this alone.
You’re not too late. You’re not too much. You’re not forgotten.
God has plans for you—and they are good.
So let’s rebuild your confidence.
Not by pretending everything’s fine.
But by healing what’s real—with grit and grace.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I’m so glad you’re here.
Remember, you are fearfully and wonderfully made!
Dr. Charlene
This is me running my first half-marathon. Yes, I felt like I was going to die, but I didn’t?.
I never in my wildest dreams thought I would have done anything like this but with the encouragement of a good friend I completed the full 13.1 miles. Some time after, I ran two other half-marathons and I am looking forward to running a fourth in the near future.
Look, if I did it so can you!
This picture is a bit grainy but it means so much to me. This is the day I received my doctoral degree. For years, I thought about getting this degree, and finally took the leap in 2016 and completed it in 2018. For me, thought led to planning, which ultimately led to me taking action.
If you don’t know what you really want out of life, spend time thinking about it, develop a plan, and then take ACTION! I am proof that with Christ you can do all things!
Relaxing at my favorite place…the beach!
We all need time to relax, unwind, and regroup. Neglecting this time for yourself can have dire consequences.
I try to take time to relax every quarter, even if it is just for a couple days. I find that helps me to think and process things better.
Now it’s your turn. Set aside time in your busy schedule to relax, unwind, and regroup.
You won’t regret it!
